A film based on Tamil Nadu former Chief minister and actress Jayalalithaa was announced on Wednesday. The biopic will be released in Hindi, Tamil and Telugu.
The biopic is based on one of the most charismatic female politicians who acted in more than 140 films. Jayalalithaa debuted as a child actress in Kannada film Sri Shaila Mahathme. The film is said to a tribute to her achievements both in cinema and politics
The film will be produced by Vibri Media, who is also producing films like ’83’ starring Ranveer Singh and ‘NTR Biopic’ starring Vidya Balan.The producers plan to launch the movie on Jayalalitha’s birthday, February 24. The first look of the film will be released on the same day.
Award winning Kollywood filmmaker, Vijay, of Madrasapattinam fame, will be directing the film. Director Vijay is overseeing the pre-production work of the film based on the vision shared by Producer Vishnu Vardhan Induri.
While the cast hasn’t been finalized, The makers said, “The film will feature prominent faces from Bollywood and South.”
Six-time chief minister J Jayalalithaa passed away after a massive cardiac arrest on December 5, 2016 in Chennai.
