Indore (Madhya Pradesh): BJP General Secretary Kailash Vijayvargiya has blamed Congress leader Rahul Gandhi for the ongoing political crisis in Rajasthan and said there is dissatisfaction in the Congress on the directionless politics of their leaders. He claimed that Congress workers feel cheated over Gandhi’s stand on China and Pakistan.

While talking to ANI here on Sunday, Vijayvargiya alleged that Rahul Gandhi’s statement on China and Pakistan makes the impression that he is not standing with India.

“If the workers of the Congress do not have faith in their leader, then such incidents will happen in all states, whether it is Madhya Pradesh, Rajasthan or Maharashtra. Statements of Rahul Gandhi indicate that he doesn’t stand with India. Sometimes it seems that he is standing with China and Pakistan, then the Congress worker feels cheated,” he said.

Rajasthan Congress issues whip to MLAs for CLP meeting today

Jaipur (Rajasthan): The Congress Legislative Party has issued a whip to its MLAs to attend a meeting on Monday in Jaipur, and will face disciplinary action if they absent themselves without mentioning a reason, Rajasthan Congress in-charge Avinash Pande said here today.

The CLP meeting has been scheduled to be held at 10:30 AM today.

The decision to issue a whip for today’s meeting was taken after a meeting at Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot’s residence here on Sunday which was attended by around 75 MLAs including ministers.

After the meeting, Pande addressed a press conference in the early hours today along with party colleague Randeep Surjewala and Ajay Maken, who had reached Jaipur late on Sunday night. The two leaders have been sent by the Congress as central observers to save the party’s government in the state.

Milind Deora comes under attack from Ajay Maken for praising Kejriwal govt
“A whip has been issued to all party MLAs to be mandatorily present at Congress Legislature Party meeting to be held tomorrow morning. Strict disciplinary action will be taken against any MLA who is absent without mentioning a proper reason,” Pande said.

Pande further said that 109 MLAs have expressed their trust in the Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Gehlot.

“A total of 109 MLAs have signed a letter expressing their trust and support to Rajasthan government led by Chief Minister Ashok Gehlot and leadership of Sonia Gandhi ji and Rahul Gandhi ji,” the Congress general secretary said.

“A few more MLAs had telephonic conversations with Chief Minister and the will also sign letter of support till morning,” he added.

Rajasthan Congress in-charge alleged that Bhartiya Janata Party (BJP) is trying to destabilise the government.

“BJP is doing this in every state. We have recently seen this in Madhya Pradesh, but we will not allow them to do so here,” he said.

Asked whether or not Deputy Chief Minister Sachin Pilot, who is currently camping in New Delhi, will attend the CLP meeting, Congress leader Surjewala countered with another question. “Why do you think he will not attend the meeting?” he asked.

The CLP meeting was called after the crisis in Rajasthan Congress intensified with Gehlot and his deputy Sachin Pilot at loggerheads.

Chief minister Gehlot has blamed the BJP for attempting to destabilise the State government by poaching Congress MLAs, which has been denied by the BJP.

Pilot is camping in Delhi to speak to the party leadership regarding the political turmoil in the State.

A controversy broke out in Rajasthan after Special Operation Group (SOG) sent a notice to Sachin Pilot to record his statement in the case registered by SOG in the alleged poaching of Congress MLAs in the state.

The clash between Gehlot and Pilot is also over the post of PCC Chief as Gehlot Camp wants that ‘One Leader One Post’ formula to be implemented in Rajasthan. Currently, Sachin Pilot heads the PCC besides holding the Deputy CM post.

Congress has 107 MLAs and the Gehlot government is supported by 10 Independent MLAs and two each from the Communist Party of India (Marxist) and the Bharatiya Tribal Party while BJP has 72 seats in the 200-member Assembly.

As many as 30 Congress MLAs and some independent legislators who are in touch with Sachin Pilot have pledged their support to him and have vouched to stand by whatever decision he takes, sources said. (ANI)

Trump wore a dark coloured face mask during his visit to Walter Reed to see wounded military members, The Hill reported. This comes as US is ravaged with coronavirus pandemic which has claimed over 1,34,000 lives.

“I think when you are in a hospital, especially in that particular setting when you are talking to a lot of soldiers, people that in some cases just got off the operating table, I think it is a great thing to wear a mask,” Trump told reporters at the White House just before his visit to Walter Reed.

Earlier at news conferences, coronavirus task force updates, rallies and other public events, Trump had been never seen wearing a protective face covering.

TRUMP

According to a report in the CNN, Trump’s decision came after “quiet lobbying” campaign by some White House aides and political advisors. Some of his advisors were some of whom were spooked by the sight of so many maskless Trump supporters at a rally in Tulsa, Oklahoma, last month and concerned by the surge of coronavirus cases in the South.

One presidential adviser described the effort as more than a week of “lots of negotiation” and repeated “pleading” by aides who urged the President to set an example for his supporters by wearing a mask on the visit.

“Some Chinese media outlets are claiming that Kazakhstan has reported cases of unknown pneumonia deadlier than coronavirus. There is no truth in these claims,” Alexey Tsoi, Minister of Health of Kazakhstan, said at a press briefing.

He further read, “The WHO had introduced codes for pneumonia in the International Classification of Diseases (ICD-10), while COVID-19 is diagnosed clinically or epidemiologically, for example through the symptom of ground-glass opacity and affected lungs, and it is not laboratory confirmed.”

“Kazakhstan, in this regard, like other countries, monitors and keeps a record of these types of pneumonia, which enables timely management-level decisions aimed at stabilising the incidence and prevalence of the coronavirus infection,” he added.

WHO praises efforts to contain COVID-19 in Dharavi

New Delhi: The World Health Organisation (WHO) praised the efforts taken to contain the coronavirus in Mumbai’s Dharavi while saying that only aggressive action combined with national unity and global solidarity can turn this pandemic around.

COVID-19 cases and deaths surging, debt relief needed for poorest nations: WHO

“There are many examples from around the world that have shown that even if the outbreak is very intense, it can still be brought back under control,” said Tedros Adhanom Ghebreyesus, WHO DG.

“And some of these examples are Italy, Spain and South Korea, and even in Dharavi – a densely packed area in the megacity of Mumbai – a strong focus on community engagement and the basics of testing, tracing, isolating and treating all those that are sick is key to breaking the chains of transmission and suppressing the virus,” the UN Health Body Chief.

The WHO DG emphasised on the need for leadership, community participation and collective solidarity.

“From countries where there is exponential growth, to places that are loosening restrictions and now starting to see cases rise. We need leadership, community participation and collective solidarity,” he said.
