New Delhi: President Ram Nath Kovind on Thursday addressed the joint session of the Parliament, the last before the Lok Sabha Elections. In his address, the President spoke at length about the steps government had taken to meet development needs, gender equality, anti-corruption measures and GST.
President said, “I congratulate my compatriots for wholeheartedly embracing the new GST system in a short span of time in the interest of a better future for the country and in spite of the initial bottlenecks.”
He added, “Now with the implementation of a comprehensive tax reform like the GST, the concept of ‘One Nation-One Tax-One Market’ has been realised. GST is proving instrumental in establishing an honest and transparent system of trade and commerce.”
