Here’s Why We’re Looking Forward To The Sustainable Fashion Day At LFW

There is a shift that’s happening in the way we perceive fashion. The stakeholders in this industry are thinking beyond the aesthetic appeal of the garments and are actually considering the process of garment production holistically. The raw materials used, the resources that are being used, the wastage that takes place in the manufacturing process and even the recyclability of the end product is now considered. Sustainable fashion is all this plus taking into consideration the environmental and societal responsibility while creating one single piece of clothing. It might not be an immediate shift throughout the industry but it’s surely, slowly taking place. Sustainability and sustainable fashion have now come in the forefront and leading the pack to a better future.

For many seasons, day two of Lakmé Fashion Week (LFW) was dedicated to and focused on the intricacies of Indian textiles. But now it encompasses a wider subject of sustainability and is known as the Sustainable Fashion Day for this season. It’s a great initiative indeed as it shows that India, too, is a major contributor to sustainable fashion.

We at MissMalini HQ are quite excited to attend Lakmé Fashion Week Summer/Resort 2019‘s tomorrow’s shows as the lineup of designer looks unmissable! With coveted designer brands like Anita Dongre, Péro and Doodlage showcasing their very best and major initiatives by industry’s movers and shakers, the day looks like an influential one. Here’s what all you can look forward to tomorrow:
