Akshay Kumar on Thursday announced his recent patriotic release “Gold” will be the first Hindi film to releasing in Saudi Arabia.
Excited to shared the news with fans Akshay tweeted, “The story of India’s first Gold medal victory for the first time in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia. Happy to share, ‘Gold’ is the first ever Bollywood movie to release in the Kingdom Of Saudi Arabia, in cinemas from today!”
The historical sports drama was inspired by India’s first Olympic gold medal won my Independent India. “Gold” traced the golden era of Indian hockey through the journey of Tapan Das, a young assistant manager who dreamt of playing for an independent nation.
‘Gold’ received critical acclaim and was praised y the industry members too. Filmmaker Karan called the film an exhilarating experience while actor Angad Bedi tweeted and said Tapas Das wins you over,
The film also starred Mouni Roy, Amit Sadh, Kunal Kapoor, Sunny Kaushal, Vineet Kumar Singh and Mouni Roy.
Directed by Reema Kagti and produced by Excel Entertainment ‘Gold’ released on August 15.
