Mamata’s Trinamool Congress, highly critical of NRC draft publication, has decided to send eight-member delegation to Assam this week to assess the situation in the north-eastern state. Nearly 40 lakh people were declared ‘outsiders’ in the NRC draft released on Monday.
Hitting out at the Centre yesterday, Mamata Banerjee had said those “Indian citizens have become refugees” in their own land. Banerjee also alleged that the central government has resorted to “vote-bank politics”.
