Srinagar: A blast has occurred on Jammu-Srinagar highway near Banihal in Ramban. The blast reportedly occurred due to bursting of a gas cylinder inside the car. Police said the explosion occurred inside a private car at Tethar, destroying the vehicle.
“The explosion appears to have been caused by a gas cylinder inside the car but this is based on preliminary examination of the car’s wreckage,” a police officer said.
As per latest reports, there were no casualties reported. At the time of the blast, a CRPF convey which passing through the highway, close to where the incident happened. As per CRPF officials, the convoy was at a significant distance from explosion site, does not appear to be an attack.
