Punjabi singer Harman Sidhu, famous for anti-drugs song, held with heroin

Mansa: Harman Sidhu, a Punjabi singer had written a song about the drug heroin. Sidhu’s song was titled as Chitta and gained immense popularity in Punjab. The song spoke about the ill-effects of the drug on the youth of the state and blamed it for destroying the culture of Punjab. However, the singer from Mansa district of Punjab was arrested with his friends with drugs.

A case has been filed against the five under the Narcotics Drugs and Psychotropic Substances Act.

Police have confirmed that all five were heroin addicts. “They were coming from Delhi after getting their supply from Delhi. Some of them consumed drugs while Harman used to sell the drug in Mansa,” said a CIA official.

A total of 52.10 grams of pure heroin has been recovered from them. The seized drug was valued at Rs 5.20 lakh
