No Empathy For Students And Their Families Says Alankrita Shrivastava Over JEE-NEET Exam

On one hand actor Sonu Sood has extended help to students who will appear for Joint Entrance Examinations (JEE) and National Eligibility Entrance Test (NEET), scheduled to be held in September, filmmaker Alankrita Shrivastava slam the government over their decision to host the competitive exam amidst Corona pandemic.
Taking to micro-blogging site Twitter, Alankrita Shrivastava shared, “80000 Covid cases in a day. And students in India have exams to take. This is nothing short of cruel and callous. Clearly no empathy for the health of students and their families”

While the NEET is slated to be held on September 13, the engineering entrance exam JEE-Mains is scheduled between 1 to 6 September. Around a million candidates have registered for JEE-Mains and 1.6 million students have registered for NEET.  Earlier, the exams were deferred twice in the wake of the pandemic, which has claimed the lives of more than 61,000 people.
Meanwhile, several students, parents, and Opposition leaders have demanded that the medical and engineering examinations must be deferred due to the COVID-19 pandemic and floods in parts of the country.
Earlier in the day, six ministers of opposition-ruled states knocked the Supreme Court’s door seeking review of its order permitting the Centre to conduct NEET and JEE this year amid the persisting pandemic.
Meanwhile, on the work front, Lipstick Under My Burkha famed director Alankrita will soon release her next, Dolly Kitty Aur Woh Chamakte Sitare on Netflix.

Touted as comedy satire, the film star Konkona Sen Sharma and Bhumi Pednekar in the lead role and its produced by Ekta Kapoor and Shobha Kapoor under their banner Balaji Telefilms.
The film also features young actors Vikrant Massey and Amol Parashar in prominent roles opposite the leading ladies. The film premiered at the 24th Busan International Film Festival under the section “A Window on Asian Cinema” on 4 October 2019.
