A lot of protests in the country are going on in different places against the Citizenship Amendment Act (CAA). Akshay Kumar, who is usually vocal about social issues, has been quiet regarding the same.
Not the superstars but many Bollywood celebs like Anurag Basu, Richa Chadha, Swara Bhasker, Mohammed Zeeshan Ayub, Sayani Gupta, Vikramaditya Motwane and others are against the act. Protests were also held in Mumbai against the anti-CAA which were also attended by the few celebs mentioned. However, the superstars of Bollywood have been silent about the same.
Yesterday, during a media interaction for Good Newwz, Akshay Kumar was asked about the anti-CAA protests. The actor said, “I don’t like violence, whatever side it is. Don’t do violence. Stay away from it. Don’t destroy anybody’s property. Say whatever you want to say to each other but do it with positivity. Talk to each other, but don’t take to violence. Nobody should do that.”

A few days ago, Akshay Kumar had accidentally liked a tweet regarding the protests. After the same, he immediately tweeted, “Regarding the ‘like’ on the tweet of Jamia Milia students, it was by mistake. I was scrolling and accidentally it must have been pressed and when I realised I immediately unliked it as In no way do I support such acts.”
Coming to Good Newwz, the film also stars Kareena Kapoor Khan, Diljit Dosanjh and Kiara Advani. It has opened to good reviews from the critics.
