New Delhi: Denied permission to hold rally, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Yogi Adityanath on Sunday addressed the Ganatantra Bachao (save democracy) rally in West Bengal through telephone.
According to ANI report, the broadcast was done using audio link in which Adityanath slammed Mamata Banerjee and Trinamool Congress. He said that Banerjee can supress the people but not their voices.
Adityanath was supposed to address a rally in North Dinajpur, near Malda. “The permission for the CM’s rally has been declined by the West Bengal government without any prior notice,” news agency ANI reported quoting the UP chief minister’s office.
According to ANI, Mritunjay Kumar, the Information Advisor to CM Yogi Adityanath said, “Ye UP CM ki lokpriyata ka hi asar hai ki Mamata Banerjee [West Bengal CM] ne helicopter landing ka permission tak nahi diya [It is because of UP CM Yogi Adityanath’s popularity that Mamata Banerjee even denied his helicopter from landing in West Bengal].”
