Nakuul Mehta and Surbhi Chandna‘s popular show, Ishqbaaz is reportedly going off air March 15 onwards. The show recently underwent a generation leap after which all the characters, including everyone’s favourite Anika, were either replaced with new faces or their track came to an end.
Producer Gul Khan confirmed the news to IWMBuzz, saying:
We created a show where three boys became the iconic poster! In a bahu driven industry, Ishqbaaaz was a breakaway visual. Also, we were the first in India to introduce a spin-off. Writing has been IB’s (Ishqbaaz) key strength.
Ishqbaaz definitely broke several stereotypes and went on to become a very successful show. No wonder Anika’s fans wildly protested her exit from the show post the leap. Unfortunately, the show failed to maintain its ratings without the original star cast. Niti Taylor was roped in to play Mannat, Shivansh’s love interest, but that twist also did nothing to improve the TRPs.
Rumours are abuzz that Ye Rishta Kya Kehlata Hai‘s spin off series, Ye Rishte Hai Pyaar Ke, starring Shaheer Sheikh will replace Ishqbaaz. Will you miss watching the show? Are you disappointed about this move made by the producers? Tell us in the comments below.
