Commando 3 Box Office Review: Vidyut Jammwal Deserves A Far Bigger & Better Franchise
Commando 3 Box Office Review: Star Cast: Vidyut Jammwal, Gulshan Devaiah
Director: Aditya Datt
Producer: Vipul Amrutlal Shah
Commando 3 Box Office Review: Expectations
Commando as a franchise is not among the most popular ones in the industry but with an action star like Vidyut Jammwal in lead, this one has shown growth from film to film. If Commando took an opening of 3.7 crores, Commando 2 started with 5.15 crores. If Commando did a lifetime business of 21 crores, Commando 2 showed a little improvement by bringing in 24.90 crores.
Now with Commando 3, the makers have tried to really raise the bar. The scale is bigger, the star cast is better and the trailer is more impressive. But how much of all of this will come together? Well, the expectations are not big from Commando 3 either, but it is at least expected to take the franchise to a new level.

Commando 3 Box Office Review: Impact
As mentioned above, the trailer of Commando 3 was impressive. It promised some really kickass action by Vidyut Jammwal. Although it didn’t promise a unique storyline, a gripping screenplay along with, Adah Sharma, Angira Dhar’s action scenes and mind-blowing performance from Gulshan Devaiah was expected.
It keeps some of its promises while lags in others. First of all Vidyut Jammwal hasn’t been utilised well to do the kind of action he is expected to do. The guy has humongous expectations from his niche and for them, it’ll be a bit let down. There are a lot of action scenes in the film where he could’ve been far better. Also, the camerawork in those scenes could’ve been better.
Secondly, the screenplay never really engages you with it. The drama could’ve been really engrossing but it just doesn’t touch that mark. First half is still decent and builds up expectations for a better second half and finale but things just keep on sliding down. The climax is little better than the earlier part of the second half but again it could’ve been executed in a better way. Still, the emotional and secular angle will be liked by the masses.
The most pleasant surprise in the film has been thrown by Gulshan Devaiah who has played the role of cold-blooded terrorist exceedingly well. He is outstanding as the antagonist and his performance will give you chills. This is one character which will stay with you for quite some time. Adah Sharma and Angira Dhar were good in action scenes.
Music is fine. Tera Baap Aaya is good and gels well with the mood of the film and others are decent.
Commando 3 Box Office Review: Prospects
Overall, Commando 3 will find it tough in multiplexes but will be received fairly well in the small centers. Apart from its own demerits, the film will be affected by two major releases Panipat & Pati Patni Aur Woh next week. The film will do a lifetime business in 30-40 crores range depending on the kind of opening it takes.
Vidyut Jammwal deserves a bigger and better franchise.

Shah Rukh Khan Would Find Ways To Get Close To Raveena Tandon On Sets; Here’s Why
Bollywood actress Raveena Tandon says superstar Shah Rukh Khan thinks she is the “best-scented” heroine.
“Every time we are together, socially or somewhere he tells (Raveena’s husband) Anil (Thadani), you have the best-scented heroine as your wife. He says every time when I used to work with her, I’d usually come close and take a sniff of her scent,” the actress said, according to a report in timesnownews.com.
She let out this secret while appearing on “The Love Laugh Live Show“. On the show, she spoke of other things too, including social media and how significant family was to her.

Raveena was one of the top heroines of the nineties in Bollywood and she had a string of blockbusters with Akshay Kumar and Govinda in her heydays. She worked with Shah Rukh Khan in Ramesh Sippy’s “Zamaana Deewana” (1995), and the much-delayed release, “Yeh Lamhe Judaai Ke“.
She won a National Award as Best Actress for her role in Kalpana Lajmi’s 2000 release, “Daman”.

Satte Pe Satta Remake: Farah Khan Opens Up On Casting Hrithik Roshan, Anushka Sharma & Other Details
Filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan says there was a time when she used to look down upon remakes, but motherhood has changed her mind.
Farah will be joining forces with filmmaker Rohit Shetty for her next, and the audience is eagerly waiting for what they are going to dish out.
According to media reports, the upcoming film is a remake of the 1982 film “Satte Pe Satta” starring Amitabh Bachchan and Hema Malini. There have been rumours that Hrithik Roshan & Anushka Sharma will be a part of the remake.
Talking about it, Farah told IANS: “They (people) have made their own story, decided whom we are making the film with, and also who has left the movie. Till we announce what we are making, what’s the title, who all are in the movie, everything else is just rumour and speculation which we don’t even want to refute because there is no point.”
But is she interested in making a remake?
“Yes, why not? At one point of time, I used to look down upon remakes and ask ‘why is he doing this?’ But now I think it is worldwide (remakes are made worldwide). I realised that after having children… My kids haven’t watched the movies that I loved in my childhood or when I was growing up. They are not going to watch them now because the movies are dated, so why not give a fresh spin if the story is interesting or something… You can modernise it and make it for today’s audiences,” said the mother of three kids.

“Motherhood has changed a lot in my life, my outlook,” added the “Main Hoon Na” director, who was in Delhi/NCR for a panel discussion organised by Royal Stag Barrel Select Large Short Films.
She shared that her son would love her to make the Hollywood superhero film “Avengers”.
“My daughters are very much into chick flicks which I don’t make, so…. My movies are anyway very child-friendly. They are PG rated, have family values, songs and are funny, so I think there is a child in me that makes movies for children,” said Farah, who gave birth to triplets in 2008.

Kriti Kharbanda On Relationship With Pulkit Samrat: “We’re Not Hiding It, But Need Some Space”
“Pagalpanti” co-stars Kriti Kharbanda and Pulkit Samrat, who have been quire candid about their relationship, say people should accord them and their families due space and privacy.
“We are not hiding our relationship but I feel people should give us some space because it’s a family thing,” Kriti said.
Pulkit added: “I think personal and family matters should be kept limited within the family. Our families are camera shy and media shy. It is not right on our part to express feelings on their behalf. I can just say we are in a happy space.”
The actors were interacting with the media at a special screening of “Pagalpanti” in Mumbai.
Rumours of Pulkit dating Kriti were doing the rounds for the longest time before the actress confirmed that she is in a relationship with the “Fukrey” actor. Kriti has now let the cat out of the bag after months of speculation.
Before dating Kriti, Pulkit married long-time girlfriend Shweta Rohira in November 2014. Shweta is “rakhi-sister” of Bollywood superstar Salman Khan. The couple separated in November 2015. After the separation, there were rumours that Pulkit briefly dated Yami Gautam.
Trending
After “Pagalpanti“, Pulkit and Kriti will be seen together in Bejoy Namibar’s “Taish”.
Talking about Nambiar’s film, Kriti said: “It is completely an opposite film compared to ‘Pagalpanti‘. In ‘Taish’, we aren’t paired opposite each other. We just happen to be a part of the cast.”
Adding to Kriti’s statement, Pulkit said: “It will be an interesting film but now we are focused about audience reaction of ‘Pagalpanti‘ till Monday.”
“Taish” is a revenge drama that also features Jim Sarbh, Amit Sadh, Neha Sharma, Aditya Pancholi and Harshvardhan Rane.

Here’s if obesity and smoking may impact healing post-fracture surgery
Washington D.C. [USA]: A recent study has examined if obesity and smoking, which are known to impact negative effects on bone health, can also affect healing in patients, who had surgery for fractures of the wrist or the distal radius.
For the study, published in the — Journal of Hand Surgery — the investigators analysed data on patients surgically treated for a distal radius fracture between 2006 and 2017 at two trauma centres.
The 200 patients were divided into obese and non-obese groups (39 and 161 patients, respectively) and were also characterised as current, former, and never smokers (20, 32, and 148 patients, respectively) based on self-reported cigarette use.
The recent study is led by a team at Beth Israel Deaconess Medical Centre (BIDMC).
At three-month and one-year follow-ups after surgery, both the obese and nonobese groups achieved acceptable scores that pertained to patient-reported function in the upper extremity — close to those of the general population.
The two groups were also similar in regards to the range of motion and bone alignment.
At three months, smokers demonstrated worse scores related to arm, shoulder, and hand function and a lower percentage of healed fractures, but these effects improved over the course of a year. Complications were similar between groups.
“Overall we found that we can achieve excellent clinical and radiographic outcomes with surgery for displaced wrist fractures in patients who are obese and in those who smoke,” said senior author Tamara D Rozental, MD, Chief of Hand and Upper Extremity Surgery at BIDMC and Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at Harvard Medical School.
“Our results show that treatment for distal radius fractures in obese and smoking patients is safe, and these patients may be treated as the general population with similar long-term results. Their short-term outcomes, however, demonstrate higher disability and, in the case of smokers, slower fracture healing,” added Rozental.
Rozental stressed that obesity and smoking are currently considered among the two most important preventable causes of poor health in developed nations, and both are modifiable risk factors.
“As such, we believe that lifestyle interventions focusing on weight loss and smoking cessation should be emphasised whenever possible,” she said. (ANI)

Virat Kohli made a big impact: RP Singh
Varanasi (UP): Former India bowler RP Singh on Saturday said that captain Virat Kohli made a big impact in the Men in Blue’s first-ever day-night Test match against Bangladesh.
Kohli smashed his 27th Test century, scoring 136 runs to help India put up a total of 347 runs in the first innings.
“Virat Kohli made a big impact in the first-ever pink-ball Test match,” Singh told ANI.
After Kohli’s performance, pacers took the charge in the match on day two. Within seven overs of the Bangladesh’s second innings, their four batsmen were sent back to the pavilion with just 13 runs on the board.
The visitors are currently on 152/6 and are trailing by 89 runs. Ishant Sharma took four wickets in the second innings. Singh said India’s pacers are the reason why they are dominating the world cricket.
“Ishant Sharma’s performance was also great. Our pacers are very good due to which we have domination in world cricket,” he said.
Singh also feels that the day-night Test is the future.
“I think it is the future of Test cricket because you must have seen there was a lot of crowd during this day-night Test in Kolkata. Somewhere the viewership was missing in the Test cricket but we got to see that in this Test,” Singh said. (ANI)

Fadnavis took oath as the Chief Minister for the second consecutive term
In a major development, Fadnavis earlier this morning took oath as the Chief Minister for the second consecutive term while Pawar took oath as Deputy Chief Minister of the state.
The move came at a time when deliberations between Congress, NCP and Shiv Sena on government formation seemingly reached the final stage on Friday.
Earlier, NCP supremo Sharad Pawar had claimed that there was a consensus on Sena chief Uddhav Thackeray as chief minister of the alliance government.
Maharashtra Assembly Elections 2019
The BJP, which emerged as the single largest party in last month’s assembly elections, could not stake claim to form a government as its ally Shiv Sena remained firm on rotating the Chief Minister’s post and equal sharing of Cabinet berths.
Shiv Sena parted its ways with BJP to explore ways to form a government. It, however, failed to prove the support of the required number of MLAs in the time given by state Governor Bhagat Singh Koshyari.
The Governor had then invited NCP, the third-largest party, to prove its ability to form the government failing which President’s Rule was imposed in the state.
The BJP won 105 seats in the 288-member assembly followed by Shiv Sena 56, NCP 54 and Congress 44. (ANI)

Sona Mohapatra On Anu Malik Stepping Down From Indian Idol: “So Many People Didn’t Want To See Him Flaunting Himself On National TV”
Singer Sona Mohapatra on Thursday said that she considers music composer Anu Malik’s stepping down as “Indian Idol” judge a “symbolic victory” for all women who have faced sexual harassment.
An “elated” Sona told IANS: “It’s great news. Sony TV took a long time do this but I am happy that he has finally stepped down from the show. It’s a battle of the whole country. There are so many people who did not want to see this person (Malik) flaunting himself on national television because it gives a lot of wrong messages to predators that they can also get away with such a thing.”
She added: “I was fighting for fairness and justice. Now, after hearing this news, I think it is a victory for eveyrbody — not just me but also for all other women who were badly treated by him. It is a symbolic victory. Our fight is not over yet, it’s just a start. We are not going to sit here and let people to take us for granted.”
The issue erupted in 2018 when Mohapatra for the first time accused Malik of sexual misconduct, which forced the composer to step down from season 10 of the show last year. Singers Neha Bhasin and Shweta Pandit had also joined Mohapatra in alleging sexual harassment against Malik.
However, when Sony TV reinstated Malik on season 11 this year, Mohapatra restarted her campaign against the composer and the channel.
Over the past days, she has mustered huge support on social media, and people have increasingly been demanding Malik’s removal from the show.
A few days ago, Malik took to social media and claimed “false and unverified allegations” were being levelled against him. He said that he was “in pain” and “in a dark space”, demanding justice.
And now on Thursday, the composer decided to quit the show. A source close to Sony TV confirmed to IANS that Malik “is stepping down as a judge from Indian Idol”.
Trending
Malik’s decision has come after Sona wrote an open letter to the Union Women and Child Development (WCD) Minister Smriti Irani, urging her to look into the ongoing debate Malik.
“My open letter to the honourable minister for women & child development. @smritiirani, I hugely admire you, your tenacity and commitment to work for the welfare of people in India and I request you to please read this. Many more women are writing in to me privately about this man,” she tweeted.
After Sona’s letter, National Commission for Women had send notice to Sony TV.
The commission also shared the notice on their official Twitter handle. They captioned it: “@NCWIndia has taken Suo-motu cognizance of this matter and send a notice to Sony Entertainment Television @sharmarekha @MinistryWCD @PMOIndia.”
In the notice, the commission mentioned Mohapatra’s tweet, and asked the channel to clarify what action was taken on the matter.
Asked if her letter to Smriti Irani has created an affect on Malik’s decision, Sona said: “I really would not know. I am sitting here in my own little world. If my letter or her name has created any affect then I would like to thank her. She is an amazing woman.”
Talking of Malik’s decision, in an interview to Times Of India, he shared that “he wants to go on a three-week break from the show, and will come back after his name is cleared”.
