Apple executive shot dead by constable in Lucknow, cop claims self defence

Lucknow: A top executive of a big multi-national mobile company was allegedly killed by a police constable following an altercation in Lucknow’s upscale Gomti Nagar extension area late Friday night.

Vivek Tiwari, 38, was in his car with his ex-colleague Sana Khan when the incident took place after he rammed a police patrol motorcycle.

The alleged shooting took place at around 1:30 am in Lucknow’s upscale Gomti Nagar extension area.

The driver of the SUV, identified as Vivek Tiwari, died of injuries at a hospital in the Uttar Pradesh capital.

Two policemen on patrol flagged his car, asking them to stop. Mr Tiwari first hit the police patrol bike and then rammed a wall while allegedly trying to escape, the police said.

Vivek Tiwari was a resident of Sultanpur. He worked as the post of Area Manager in Apple Company. He lived with his wife and two daughters. Meanwhile, Vivek Tiwari’s ally Sana has been detained by police.
