Housefull 4 Box Office Day 7: Performs Superbly On Thursday; Has An Excellent First Week

Housefull 4 Box Office Day 7: Sajid Nadiadwala’s Housefull 4 had an excellent first week as collections maintained superbly on Thursday as well. The film brought in 13 crores* more and that too when most of the country is now out of the holiday season. On Wednesday, the collections stood at 16.35 crores and now Thursday hasn’t fallen much.

In the process, the film has crossed 140 crores as the total stands at 141.17 crores*. This is a tremendous score for any film and here we are taking about Housefull 4 where most thought that it wouldn’t even reach this far as a lifetime score.

Box Office - Housefull 4 is superb on Thursday, has an excellent first week
Housefull 4 Box Office Day 7: Performs Superbly On Thursday; Has An Excellent First Week

The manner in which this Akshay Kumar led film is currently going, it is bound to be his second highest grosser for sure as 2.0 (Hindi) number of 188 crores would certainly be crossed. However, it has to be seen if the reincarnation comedy actually manages to enter the 200 Crore Club as well and then in the process surpass Mission Mangal lifetime too.

*Estimates. Final numbers awaited

CONFIRMED: Shah Rukh Khan To Share Screen Space With Ranbir Kapoor In Brahmastra

Yes, you read that right. It’s Shah Rukh Khan’s special appearance in Brahmastra. Months ago when Ranbir Kapoor, Alia Bhatt, Amitabh Bachchan’s multi-million project was clashing with Salman Khan’s Dabangg 3 on Christmas 2019, everyone predicted that one of the two movies will avert.

Ayan Mukerji, while announcing the postponement, told, “I really hope that we make up for the delay,” and with the news of Shah Rukh Khan’s cameo in the film, everything is forgiven. Shah Rukh Khan made a cameo in Ranbir Kapoor’s Ae Dil Hai Mushkil and we all still remember the result. Shah owned each and every second of that frame.

CONFIRMED: Shah Rukh Khan To Share Screen Space With Ranbir Kapoor In Brahmastra
CONFIRMED: Shah Rukh Khan To Share Screen Space With Ranbir Kapoor In Brahmastra

Now, as per a report in Mumbai Mirror, Shah Rukh Khan has an extensive cameo in Ranbir Kapoor’s Brahmastra. It’s not a blink & miss cameo but a proper role that pushes Ranbir’s character to become the hero. Director Ayan Mukerji has specifically written this role for Shah.

By the year-end, Shah Rukh Khan will shoot his portions for the film. When Ayan, earlier this year, said “I believe that the extra time going into making the movie is essential to achieve the dream of ‘Brahmastra,” we all now believe he was talking about the dream of casting Shah Rukh Khan in his film.

NOTE: This isn’t it, this isn’t just the only BIG news that’s coming about Shah Rukh Khan today. We, at Koimoi, have something to break but that would be in a while. Want a hint? Two superstars, Two much fun. That’s it for now, stick to this space for a BIGGER news than this (Read it, to believe it).

The movie will be the first of a trilogy being produced by Karan Johar’s Dharma Productions. It’s a passion project for Mukerji, who began working on the ‘dream’ in 2011. “That dream is about creating a movie that offers our country something that is really new and amazing and next level. In terms of story, characters, and emotions, but also in terms of visual effects. It has been a long road trying to achieve this vision,” he wrote.

“I believe that the extra time going into making the movie is essential to achieve the dream of ‘Brahmastra’, and I really hope that we make up for the delay by giving our movie-loving country something they can love and feel proud of,” he concluded.

PM Modi arrives in Saudi Arabia for 2-day visit

Riyadh [Saudi Arabia]: Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Monday arrived at the King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh for a two-day visit to the country.

The Prime Minister was received by Saudi officials. He inspected a guard of honour at the airport and will be staying at the King Saud Palace during the visit.

Modi is in the Kingdom at the invitation of Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud and with an aim to boost bilateral ties between the two countries in key sectors, including energy and finance.

The visit would witness the Prime Minister launching the RuPay card in the country, besides meeting several ministers from the Saudi leadership on Tuesday.

Modi is also expected to meet Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan Al Saud, Energy minister Prince Abdulaziz bin Salman Al Saud, Labour and Social Development Minister Ahmad bin Sulaiman Alrajhi and Environment and Agriculture Minister Abdulrahman bin Abdulmohsen Al Fadley on Tuesday.

A lunch will be hosted by Saudi King Salman bin Abdulaziz Al Saud in honour of the Prime Minister at the Royal Court.

Modi is slated to hold a bilateral meeting with the King following which an exchange of agreements will take place.

The Prime Minister will deliver a keynote address at the Future Investment Initiative (FII) which will be followed by an interaction with a moderator at the conference. The FII Forum is also known as the ‘Davos in the Desert’ which has been hosted by Riyadh since 2017 to project the Kingdom as a potential investment hub in the region.

After delivering the address, Modi will meet Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman. A dinner will be hosted by the Crown Prince in honour of the Indian leader.

Modi will then depart for New Delhi in the night after wrapping up his engagements.

Prior to his departure, Modi said in a statement that he looks forward to his participation in the FII Forum where he would be speaking about the growing trade and investment opportunities for the global investors in India as the country marches forward to a USD 5 trillion economy by 2024.

In his statement, the Prime Minister noted that India and Saudi Arabia have enjoyed traditionally close and friendly relations and that the latter has been one of the largest and reliable suppliers of India’s energy needs.

Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following New Delhi’s decision to revoke Article 370 of the Constitution that granted special status to Jammu and Kashmir. Islamabad has unilaterally downgraded bilateral ties and has been attempting to internationalise the Kashmir issue but to no avail.

The Prime Minister’s aircraft had to take a long detour by crossing the Arabian Sea, as Pakistan had denied permission to allow the plane to use its airspace while flying to Saudi Arabia.

Pakistan on Sunday turned down a request from India for the use of its airspace for Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia. According to media reports, India had sought Pakistan’s permission for the same.

Sources in the government have said that New Delhi has taken the matter to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO). According to the sources, overflight clearances are sought and granted by other countries as prescribed by the ICAO guidelines.

“Overflight clearances are sought and granted by other countries as per the prescribed guidelines of the ICAO. India will continue to seek such overflight clearances. We have taken up the matter of such denial with the civil aviation body,” said the sources.

“Pakistan should reflect upon its decision to deviate from well-established international practice, as well as reconsider its old habit of misrepresenting the reasons for taking unilateral action,” added the sources.

“We regret the decision of the Government of Pakistan to yet again deny the overflight clearance for VVIP special flight, which is otherwise granted routinely by any normal country,” they said.

Pakistan had earlier also denied Modi access to its air space for his visit to the US to attend the 74th UN General Assembly session in September. Prior to this, President Ram Nath Kovind was also denied permission to use Pakistan’s airspace for his official visit to Europe. (ANI)

Islam is not so weak that it stands threatened by what is a beautiful Indian custom. India’s beauty is in her Ganga Jamuni tehzeeb,” tweeted Shabana Azmi.

PM Modi to embark on two-day visit to Saudi Arabia today

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi will embark on a two-day visit to Saudi Arabia on Monday with an aim to boost bilateral ties between the two countries in key sectors including energy and finance.

Modi is paying a visit to the Kingdom at the invitation of Saudi King Salman Bin Abdulaziz Al Saud. The Prime Minister will hold talks with Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed Bin Salman and launch the RuPay card in the country during the two-day visit. He will also attend the third session of the Future Investment Initiative (FII) Forum in Riyadh, where he will deliver the keynote address.

The Prime Minister will arrive in Riyadh on Monday night. A few Saudi ministers are slated to meet the visiting dignitary, the following day.
Modi is also scheduled to address the FII plenary session on Tuesday. He will leave for New Delhi on the same night.

The FII is also known as the ‘Davos in the Desert’ which has been hosted by Riyadh since 2017 to project the Kingdom as a potential investment hub in the region.

“There will also be a bilateral segment to his visit where Prime Minister Modi will meet Mohammed Bin Salman Al Saud, Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, and hold bilateral talks with him,” TS Tirumurti, Secretary (Economic Affairs), Ministry of External Affairs, had told reporters on Thursday.

“An agreement on the Strategic Partnership Council will also be signed. There will also be separate delegation-level talks with the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia,” he added.

The two countries are expected to hold joint naval exercises in December this year.

Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia comes amid heightened tensions between India and Pakistan following New Delhi’s decision to revoke Article 370 that granted special powers to Jammu and Kashmir. Islamabad has unilaterally downgraded bilateral ties and has been attempting to internationalise the Kashmir issue but to no avail.

Pakistan on Sunday turned down a request from India for the use of its airspace for Modi’s visit to Saudi Arabia. According to media reports, India had sought Pakistan’s permission to use the country’s airspace on October 28 for Modi.

New Delhi has taken the matter of Islamabad’s move to deny permission to the Prime Minister’s special flight to use its airspace, to the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO), sources in the government have said.

The sources further said: “We regret the decision of the Government of Pakistan to yet again deny the overflight clearance for VVIP special flight, which is otherwise granted routinely by any normal country.”

Pakistan had earlier also denied Modi access to its air space for his visit to the US to attend the 74th UN General Assembly session in September. Prior to this, President Ram Nath Kovind was also denied permission to use Pakistan’s airspace for his official visit to Europe. (ANI)

Post-Diwali, while Delhi witnesses ‘very poor’ air quality, Mumbai breathes easy

Mumbai (Maharashtra):  While Delhi remains under the grip of dust and firecracker pollution post-Diwali, locals in Mumbai can breath easy with major pollutants PM 2.5 and PM 10 docking at 32 and 43 respectively in Haji Ali area — levels which come in the ‘good’ category, as per Air Quality Index (AQI) data.

The pollution levels in Delhi and Uttar Pradesh’s Noida dipped to ‘very poor’ category with overall air quality index standing at 306 and 356, respectively. Extremely poor air quality in Delhi was earlier predicted due to firecracker emissions, unfavourable weather and a significant spike in stubble burning in neighbouring states.

With an aim to curb the menace of dust and firecracker pollution, the East Delhi Municipal Corporation (EDMC) on Monday began sprinkling water on the roads in Laxmi Nagar area.

The local authorities were seen running the machines in and around Laxmi Nagar, which is a popular shopping area in the national capital.

As Haryana too witnessed bursting of crackers on Diwali, its AQI stood at 279 (poor) at NISE Gwal Pahari area in Gurugram.

On Saturday, the System of Air Quality and Weather Forecasting And Research (SAFAR) had predicted that the air quality will get even worse in coming days and the AQI was expected to be around 324 due to Diwali.

In the wake of the increased pollution, Delhi residents have complained of a spike in respiratory problems and allergies.
Stubble burning in Punjab and Haryana makes the situation in Delhi worse. According to Punjab Remote Sensing Centre (PRSC), straw burning has increased this year.

To curb air pollution, the Arvind Kejriwal-led government in Delhi has announced the implementation of the Odd-Even scheme from November 4 to 15. (ANI)
