PM Modi conferred with Seoul Peace Prize in South Korea (Video)

New Delhi: Prime Minister Narendra Modi awarded the Seoul Peace Prize on Friday during his two-day visit to South Korea.

The award was first announced by the Seoul Peace Prize Cultural Foundation in October last year.

# I dedicate this award to the 1.3 billion people of India for giving me the opportunity to serve them. I am honoured that this award is being conferred on me in the year that we celebrate the 150th Birth Anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi: PM

# I believe that this award belongs not to me personally, but to the people of India. The success that India has achieved in the last 5 years is due to aspirations, inspiration & efforts of the people of India. On their behalf, I accept the Award and express my gratitude: PM

PM Modi unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi 

On 21 February, he unveiled a bust of Mahatma Gandhi along with South Korean President Moon Jae-in and former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon at Yonsei University.

On Thursday, He took the stage and thanked his countrymen for the award. While addressing the Indian diaspora in Seoul, PM Modi said, “This prize is not mine, I will only be receiving it on behalf of 130 crore Indians and the 3 crore Indians living abroad. This prize is recognition of hard work of all Indians.”
