New Delhi: Saeed’s aide, Gopal Singh Chawla, posted a picture with Sidhu on his Facebook account on Thursday morning at the ground-breaking ceremony, hobnobbing with the dignitaries.
The picture has the caption: “with sedu pa g [with Sidhu]”
Navjot Singh Sidhu, criticized for his visit to Pakistan for the ground-breaking ceremony of the Kartarpur corridor and for effusively praising Pak Prime Minister Imran Khan at the event, was set up for more attacks today after his photo with pro-Khalistan activist Gopal Singh Chawla emerged online.

The BJP reacted sharply to Chawla’s photo with Mr Sidhu. “Such malicious tactics on Pakistani soil can not be ignored,” said Union Minister Mukhtar Abbas Naqvi. The minister also said that Mr Sidhu should maintain distance in such meetings.
Today’s picture is a clearer evidence that the Saeed aide indeed met the Indian minister.
In response, the Shiromani Akali Dal (SAD), Congress’s opposition party in Punjab, has asked for Sidhu’s ouster from the Punjab cabinet.
Manjinder S Sirsa, General Secretary, DSGMC and National spokesperson, SAD, tweeted: “.@capt_amarinder declined to visit Pak bcos Pak supports anti-India & anti-Punjab activities; but his own Minister @sherryontopp goes agnst his wish & gets clickd with Gopal S Chawla; close aide of Hafiz Saeed & anti-India persn. Wud Captain Sahab sack his irresponsible Minister?”
