​It’s been absolutely gratifying to direct ‘Manikarnika’ : Kangana Ranaut

Kangana Ranaut who is gearing up for the release of her upcoming film, ‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ said its was absolutely gratifying to direct the film.

The actress was present at the Wrap up party for the historic biopic with her cast and crew on Monday.

Half way through the film’s shooting a Clap board picture of the film was uploaded by the makers with The actress’s name as the director. When asked to comment on all the hardships the film has been through Kangana said, “I didn’t get a lot of actor’s combination dates either and we even had to send charters also for some people. There are many things that happened and there are many stories to tell but eventually if you ask me its been absolutely gratifying to direct the film.

‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ has been in news for many controversial reasons, from Sonu Sood exiting the film to major portions of the film being reshot.

Talking about directing the film, Ranaut said, she was taken aback by the news but enjoyed the process.

“Every film has its own journey and Manikarnika had its own. It is true that we had some trouble while shooting but our team is so strong. We have all struggled a lot to complete this project and now finally are celebrating the wrap up. It is very accidental that I had to director the film eventually. When it happened I was taken a back but when I got into the process I had a lot of fun.”

‘Manikarnika: The Queen of Jhansi’ is an epic biographical film based on the life of Rani Laxmibai of Jhansi. It is being produced by Zee Studios in association with Kamal Jain & Nishant Pitti.

Apart from ‘Manikarnika’, Kangana will also be seen in ‘Mental Hai Kya’ with Rajkummar Rao and will star as a kabaddi player in Ashwiny Iyer Tiwari’s ‘Panga’.
